mcguire2MAGGIE McGUIRE is a Research Assistant with the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU)’s Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.

BACKGROUND  |  Maggie has been involved in anti-sexual violence work for over 5 years. She started with hotline volunteering at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and then held multiple positions most recently with Ohio’s statewide coalition, the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence.  In 2017, she presented the workshop “Better Data, Stronger Stories” at the Attorney General’s Two Days in May conference.

Maggie received her Bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Cleveland State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Health from Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health.

Q: Why is your work at the Begun Center important to you, to our community, and to the world?

From experience working with and advocating for survivors of sexual assault, I am motivated to be apart of research that can improve their experience within the systems and best practices of practitioners in the field.
